Event Watcher

Each time at opening a window Event Watcher you see the warning:

Please, consider the setup of parameters very attentively. Unless you are careful, it is possible that your system may enter a shutdown process shortly after it is booted up.

To make this event easier to recover from, 2 minutes of delays of processing of external events is performed after each system reboot. So, if the system starts shutdown almost at once after a restart, start the Force Shutdown application. You have 2 minutes to clear the a checkbox of a user-specified external event. After that you should carefully adjust the processing of the user-selected external event!

Setup shutdown by time

You can execute a system shutdown at a specific time. The event is remembered and will be processed repeatedly, if "Activate Smart Shutdown" checkbox was selected. After the date and time are chosen , you can mark the checkbox "Active" and "Begin System Shutdown When:". You can set shutdown time very flexibly:

• set the time, when shutdown will be started;
• set the system uptime, after which shutdown will be started;
• set the time of delay(related to current time), after which shutdown will be started.

Setup shutdown by inactivity time

You can start shutdown depending on a user's activity. After some time period of inactivity you can start shutdown, sleep(suspend) or hibernate. Also you can lock your desktop(only for NT/2000/XP/2003) and after some minutes start shutdown or hibernate.

Setup shutdown by file

You can start shutdown depending on a condition of a user-specified file. Shutdown can be started, if:

• The file exists;
• The file does not exist;
• The size of a file is less than given size;
• The size of a file is more than given size;
• The size of a file is equal to the given size;

The event is remembered and will be processed repeatedly, if the "Activate Smart Shutdown" checkbox was selected. After this condition is chosen , you can choose checkbox "Begin System Shutdown When".

Setup shutdown by program

You can start shutdown in case a user specified program(s) is started (or closed). The event is remembered and will be processed repeatedly, if "Activate Smart Shutdown" checkbox was selected. After condition is chosen , you can choose checkbox "Begin System Shutdown When", having started process of processing of external events by program(s).

Setup shutdown by local users

You can start shutdown in case the certain local users are logged in or not logged in your computer. Thus you can limit access to your computer for the certain users or for all users, excepting you.

Setup shutdown when removable media inserted

You can start shutdown if the CD/DVD/Zip disk is inserted. You can select from the list of devices, which device is necessary for inspecting by checking of an appropriate checkbox. You can select a method of check. If you select "Polling Device (s), the program periodically with an interval, which can be defined in a field «Interval», will check the devices. This method is necessary in the event that "Auto Run Feature", or "Use System Messages" does not work. In all other cases it is better to use "Use System Messages" option.

Setup shutdown when network connections detected

You can start shutdown when some user or some computer connects to your machine from remote computer by local area network or from Internet.

Setup removable media ejecting

You can set, from what devices before shutdown the disks will are ejected. Tray will be opened only if the media is loaded in the drive. You can allow or prohibit waiting confirmation of removing of the disk from device. In case of the sanction of confirmation the program will wait pressing the "OK" button, when the media is removed from device. After confirmation the program will continue the shutdown execution.

Hot Keys

For acceleration of access to various functions of the program you can define the "Hot Keys". You can nominate a shortcut key of your choice. For this purpose, click the mouse in input field on the right and press the necessary shortcut key. If the combination, given by you, can not be used - the program will inform you about this (this shortcut key can be used in other program) and you it will be necessary to enter another combination.
